Tinkergarten Free Trial Classes:
Wednesday, January 6, 11:00am-12:00pm
Each season, we help children to develop one of our 8 core skills kids need to become curious, capable learners who can contribute to their world. This Winter, we foster kids’ problem-solving skills. Kids will wonder, observe, experiment, and work together—all while developing Problem Solving mindsets and learning that it’s fun and healthy to get outdoors in all 4 seasons!
Our lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three units. In our We Are Explorers unit, we discover that there are problems to solve everywhere and there are many ways to solve a problem. In our We Are Scientists unit, we think like scientists to solve big problems, observing, experimenting, and sharing ideas to learn from what we see. In our We Are Changemakers unit, we explore how working together can help us imagine, test and find the best solutions for our community and our planet!
There will be no Tinkergarten class on February 17th, the week of school vacation.
In the event of cancellations due to weather or illness, makeup classes may be added on March 10th and 17th.
Ages 7-12, drop off class*

Registration for Individual Days Available.
Tinkering with Nature programs are Big Kid versions of the Tinkergarten curriculum. This Winter, we'll focus on Problem Solving. In each three-hour class session, our Big Kids will wonder, observe, experiment, and work together—all while building our Problem Solving skills and learning about the scientific method, balance and measurement, and simple machines. The class sessions will take place both indoors and outdoors, and will incorporate scavenger hunts, code breaking, and teamwork challenges.
We'll have snack time in the middle of each class. Warm herbal tea or hot cocoa will be provided. Kids should bring a snack from home.
*Although Tinkering with Nature is a drop-off program, parents are welcome to stay and observe. A limited number of parent volunteer spots may be available for adults who agree to stay and assist with the class.
Children who have been previously enrolled in a Tinkergarten season may join Tinkering with Nature at 6 years old.
Ben's Truck Time is $5 per session for the first child, or $10 per session for a family with two or more children. The playgroup is held outside, and the kids will be playing in the dirt or snow.
